Twins, Sean and Lara, will be graduating from Stratford High School this year and we had the pleasure creating their senior images! This session was mostly for Lara, cause you know boys… they just LOVE having their picture taken! LOL! But Sean made a good prop 😉 He was also great at keeping us up to date on the Astro’s play-off game that day (they lost, but we aren’t going to talk about that).

At our initial consultation, we got to know Lara a bit better and we are fascinated by the fact that she loves to read. In fact, she loves to read so much that she works at a bookstore. A book lover’s heaven! And Sean loves nature and the outdoors so he was right at home in the field that we ended at.

Here are a few of our favs:

MUAH: Your Beautiful Face

Kory is a senior at Cy-Creek High School with a great sense of humor, is an awesome writer, and has a love for animals and fast cars. She is also quiet, listens to Modest Mouse, has a dog named Bobo and a lizard named Belial. And the first thing she did when she got her license was drive to a salon, chop her hair off, and had it dyed blue.

To be honest, getting her portrait made and talking about herself is not her thing. She was straight with us about that from the beginning, but the love for her mom got her in front of our lens (and we are glad it did). Hopefully, she sees this fierce girl who has ability, authenticity, beauty, greatness, strength, style, and just plain badassery.

Kory, it was a pleasure working with you and even more of a pleasure meeting you. We leave you with this:

“You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something – your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. Because believing that the dots will connect down the road will give you the confidence to follow your heart even when it leads you off the well worn path; and that will make all the difference.” – Steve Jobs

The new year has started and we’re checking in with our last senior spokesmodel to see how it’s been going for her this year:

HERE’S SARAH!

JP: What all are you up to this fall? What were you most looking forward to this past semester?
SK: This was such a busy semester! I was busy studying for my ACT a lot because I’m really trying to score a 32 to get a full ride to the college I want to go to. Thankfully my classes weren’t as hard as they were last year so my workload is lighter. I’ve been babysitting every week day and it’s a really fun job, because the kid I babysit is pretty cool and we share some laughs! We had our homecoming dance which was fun, and I celebrated my 18th birthday October 8th! My first adult privilege I took advantage of was buying a lottery ticket (I didn’t win anything😢).

JP: What’s been the highlight so far since school started?
SK: Definitely getting into my dream school, the University of Alabama!! Roll Tide!!

JP: Do you have any events coming up that we can announce for you or brag about?
SK: I am running the Woodlands Marathon on March 5th and I am so excited! I have done 3 half marathons in the past 6 months and I decided I wanted to complete a full one before I went to college so I have been training and am really looking forward to it!

JP: Have you learned anything new so far in any of your classes that truly surprised you?
SK: I’ve always hated math, but this year I’m in Statistics and we have a really great teacher and the math makes logical, practical, real world sense to me so I’m actually enjoying that class this year! So I suppose I’ve learned that not all math is as awful as Pre Cal made me think it was.

JP: Is there anything else interesting you want to share?
SK: Senioritis is sooooo real, but enjoy senior year while you can because nothing will ever be the same once you graduate! Make great memories!! (And get your senior pictures with Joie Photographie so you have something to remember them by!!)

L: With the Markettes I was busy with football season and performing in pep rallies. With my company at Memorial Dance Center we started competition season and are preparing for more competitions next semester. I was really looking forward to my last football season because it’s always my favorite time of the year.

JP: What’s been the highlight so far since school started?
L: The highlight of this semester has been going to ACL with one of my friends!

JP: Do you have any events coming up that we can announce for you or brag about?
L: I have multiple dance competitions coming up as well as auditions for college dance teams.

JP: What’s been the highlight so far since school started?
MC: One of the highlights of this semester so far has been the fall play. We did Pink Panther Strikes Again at school, and I got to play the role of Olga, the Russian spy. Another highlight is when I had the awesome opportunity of going to the Austin City Limits music festival!
