Engaged!

The excitement, the nervousness, the feeling of being on a mission…….and we can’t imagine how the groom-to-be must also feel! It’s fun to be part of the secret mission as he plans the special moment when he will drop down on one knee and ask the very important question.

The plan formed through a few conversations and almost changed last minute due to possible rain. But thankfully the rain held off and it was a clear night perfect for the proposal. Once bystanders realized that Chris was proposing to Marissa, there were cheers and applause. A great way to top off a very special moment and now they’re engaged!

Enia and Daniel |Houston Heights Wedding Photographer

So my cousin is getting married! While I will be attending the wedding as a guest, I had the honor of photographing my adorable cousin and her fiancé’s engagement session…Have you ever had a younger family member get married? To me it’s just weird. Or maybe it just makes me feel old. Okay… no… it’s just weird… alright alright, it also makes me feel old. I still see her as a little girl… laughing, playing little girl games, making little girl jokes and picking on my younger brothers. It is just hard to wrap my head around the idea that soon she is going to be a wife! Then (if she chooses) a mother! The Circle Of Life stops for no one! I guess I should get use to the idea since my younger brother just got engaged and my youngest brother just brought home his girlfriend for the family to meet (that’s another blog post)! Sheesh! Bring out the walker and tennis balls, at this rate I’m going to need it by the end of 2015!

Anyway, congratulations Enia and Daniel! You guys are seriously too adorable! I wish y’all many years of true love and happiness!

She Said “YES!”

When we get a phone call asking if we want to be a part of a surprise marriage proposal, and work with clients that we’ve loved working with in the past, we say, “definitely yes!”

Such was the case when Phillip called to see if we could photograph the moment that he would ask Laura to marry him. While sitting in our studio, we came up with a game plan for the big moment and then waited impatiently until it was time to head over to the pre-determined spot. Then we counted the minutes until we saw them walking up to us and knew it was our cue to put our acting skills to the test. While pretended not to know each other, Phillip asked us to take a picture of them together under the trees with Christmas lights. Then we waited for him to get down on one knee. Then she said, “yes!” Strangers passing by cheered and congratulated them!

It was the perfect location for this because they took a picture in this same spot 5 years ago on their first date. It was such an honor to be a part of this special time in their lives and to be able to capture it for their memories.

Eden | High School Senior Model

We can’t say enough good things about the beautiful Eden! She was amazing to work with and is on her way to paving a path in the modeling industry! Her mom, Sunny, is the owner of Sunny Hair and Makeup Artistry and is one of our favorite makeup and hairstylists to work with when it comes to our senior girls. She contacted us a few months ago to do a session that would help build Eden’s modeling portfolio and of course we said yes! With flawless skin and perfectly styled hair, we headed out into the city to enjoy shooting on a perfect autumn day. It gave us the opportunity to try out new fun locations and different lighting techniques.

We can’t wait to see where Eden’s career takes her! Here is a few of our favorites from that day:

Jake| Fort Bend Christian Academy

Now, it may look like we only work with senior girls, but that is so far from the truth! We love working with senior guys too! Especially when they are a football quarterback at Fort Bend Christian Academy 😉

Meet Jake!

We met up with Jake in Galveston for a combination of urban and beach settings. One thing that Jake wanted to be sure to include was his yellow jeep and we love when our seniors include personal items in their session. We loved working with his family to make the best photo shoot for Jake!
